短应力线轧机具有刚度大、产品精度高、设备重量轻，操作简单，尤其是“在线快速更换轧机”的特点，使得其成为目前国内棒、线材厂轧钢作业中的主导机型。短应力线轧机大致可分为机架式和框架式两种。如图1所示。(其他只是在平衡方式、轴向调整机构、压下机构、组装方式上等稍有差别，基本结构相同。
